Special shows: “A Musical Tribute to Liberace with Wes Winters”

A trip to Las Vegas is not complete without a visit to the Liberace Museum. The museum was found in 1979 by Liberace. Liberace pioneered the use of outrageous costumes and huge amount of “bling” long before Cher or Elton. The entrance sign is as pink as Liberace and for sure you won’t miss the museum, located at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Spencer Street.

The museum is composed of two buildings, the main museum housing his costumes, a selection of home furnishings, jewelry, café, performance hall and a gift shop, while the second building houses his pianos and bars.

His collection of costumes and jewelry is amazing. You can see the famous costumes, such as “Lasagna” and you can enjoy watching his gold piano-shaped ring with 260 diamonds. There are also on display his piano-shaped wrist watch and his candelabra ring.

In the second building a rhinestone-studded piano is housed as well as other unique pianos and cars.

If you get tired of the collection you can take your time and enjoy “A Musical Tribute to Liberace with Wes Winters” (for an additional fee) in the performance hall. You can also stop by the gift shop to pick up a souvenir because the visit to the museum is worth to remember.

The museum is non-profit and supports the work of the Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts which funds scholarships for the arts.
