La Cosa Nostra departs, Israeli crime groups flourish
Due to the enormous cash flow associated with gambling and high-life entertainment, Las Vegas has always been a place where organized crime flourished.
The five cities in US most visited by tourists are: San Francisco, Las Vegas, Boston, Orlando and Seattle. Las Vegas is considered the city with the highest criminal rate (based on FBI Crime Index) , while some of those cities are larger then Las Vegas and Orlando is three times smaller. However, none of them have more then 36 million visitors each year. Still, as Morgan Quinto Report says, Las Vegas is ranged 12 in the most dangerous cities in US list.
A long time ago, well about 25 years ago, it was Tony Spilotro and ‘Lefty’ Rosenthal that held the newspapers’ headlines. However a lot of crimes went undetected. Take the example of a man who got mugged by the hooker he called in and of course he didn’t report it as he wanted to keep the “problem” away from the wife’s ears (and anger).
For years, the infamous La Cosa Nostra dominated the streets and even had some hidden interests in some casinos on the Strip. The authorities manage to “calm” down the mob’s influence but that left an open door for other criminal groups. Law enforcements are investigating Israeli crime connections in Las Vegas. They are involved in importing cocaine and Ecstasy from Europe as it’s know that in nightclubs on the Strip, Ecstasy is very popular. Hence Las Vegas became a flourishing ground for Israeli crime groups.
